Senegal’s Electoral Commission has asked the Ministry of the Interior to reinstate opposition politician Ousmane Sonko’s name on the electoral roll.

The letter from the electoral body stresses that the Mayor of Ziguinchor must be able to obtain the documents he needs to stand as a candidate in the 2024 presidential election.
