The Senegalese army has announced the dismantling of a clandestine gold-panning site in the east of the country.

The information given by the Armed Forces Public Relations Department, on its X account revealed that a total of 15 individuals of foreign nationality were apprehended.

In addition to the arrests, equipment such as generators, solar panels, tricycles and motorcycles, as well as cans of acid, were seized.

This is the third site dismantled by the Senegalese army since April 22, 2024.a
