A group of intellectuals numbering over one hundred in a joint statement Wednesday condemned what it described as rights violations and abuses in Senegal.
It is the responsibility of intellectuals and all citizens of goodwill, to take up the defence of the fundamental values in a State governed by the rule of law, the group said.
The 104 signatories from different countries and nationalities say they strongly condemn the restrictions placed on the freedom of movement of citizens and the continuous instrumentalization of justice in Senegal.
Professor Mohamadou Lamine Sanya from Massachuset, the United States speaks on the group’s demand.
