The seven judges of the Constitutional Council in Senegal, will on Friday draw lots to validate the sponsorship of the various candidates for the upcoming February 2024 elections.

Addressing the media on Thursday, supporters of opposition leader Ousmane Sonko confirmed they had received their summons.

The representative from the dissolved Pastef party stated that they had submitted all required documentation to the Constitutional Council.

Despite facing challenges, including the refusal of the Directorate General of Elections to issue them sponsorship forms, Ousmane Sonko and his team successfully compiled the necessary paperwork.
