As the 20th anniversary of the Grand Challenges Annual Meeting this week in Dakar, the Senegalese capital, comes to an end, scientists and innovators have called for a stronger regulatory system that rigorously protects people’s health.

Hosted by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The Grand Challenge platform provides African scientists and innovators with the technical and operational support they need to turn promising ideas into scalable health and development solutions.

Speaking to WADR on the sideline of the event, WHO Africa Director of the Global Malaria Programme Dr Daniel Ngamije Madandi, charged leaders to play their role to solve challenges facing their health sector.
