Demonstrations have continued in parts of Ghana, days after the electoral commission declared President Nana Akufo-Addo winner of the December 7 elections. The keenly contested election in which former president Mahama emerged second has been challenged by his party the National Democratic Congress, citing electoral irregularities.
Meanwhile the European Union Election Observation Mission says although the polls were largely free and fair, the collation of the final results was less well-organized.
