Benin’s President Patrice Talon has held key talks with religious leaders to promote national unity ahead of the 2026 elections.

The meeting, organized with the Framework for Dialogue of Religious Denominations, focused on fostering peace and strengthening interfaith harmony.

President Talon also discussed growing security threats in northern Benin, particularly the risks of terrorism and extremism.

Religious leaders welcomed the dialogue and pledged their support in maintaining social cohesion during the lead-up to the polls.
