In Guinea Bissau, President Umaru Sissoko Emballo has accused the opposition of orchestrating what has been characterized as an attempted coup in the country a week ago.

Last Thursday, gunfire exchanges occurred in the capital, Bissau, involving elements of the National Guard and the presidential Special Forces.

Abdullahi Hassan reports that on Wednesday, the national army showcased various weapons they claimed to have seized in the aftermath of these events.
