In the wake of Mali’s interim President, Colonel Assimi Goïta’s endorsement of a new constitution during the past weekend, various political parties within the country have been responding to its promulgation.

Pro-transition political factions have expressed satisfaction with the new constitution, viewing it as a positive step towards stability and progress in the country.

However, there are also concerns among other groups that the new constitution might pave the way for Colonel Assimi Goita to potentially run for office in future elections, thereby raising questions about the implications for the nation’s political landscape.
