Clashes broke out between the Police and students at the Félix Houphouët Boigny University in Cocody, Abidjan.
This situation occurred after the arrest of several students during demonstrations that began on June 4, 2024, to advocate for improved student life.
The arrested individuals were first taken to the Abidjan police headquarters and then transferred to MACA.
During the protest, student groups from the movement of the Student and School Federation of Côte d’Ivoire (FESCI) were dispersed from the Cocody campus by police using tear gas.
As a result, several activities have been disrupted since the start of these movements on the Cocody campus in Abidjan.
At present, student groups from the FESCI are demanding the release of their arrested and imprisoned peers to ensure the effective resumption of academic activities on campus and prevent a lost academic year.
