Less than 17 % of prospective teachers who sat for the recent Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) passed. 83.5 failed the exam.

The Council mandated to carry out the examination, the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination is therefore worried about the quality of teachers graduating from universities especially because the candidates who failed were writing the exam for the second, third, and even ninth time, after previous failures.
