In this edition of Woman of the Day where we honor great African women who have been instrumental in shaping the African society and are a vital force for development in the continent, we celebrate Chief Elizabeth Abimbola Awoliyi.
She was the first woman to practice as a physician in Nigeria. She was also the first West African woman to earn a license as a Royal Surgeon in Dublin.
