Northern Togo was hit a few days ago by an attack by terrorists on a large scale according to several local and international media.

According to local media, the attack hit the town of Tiwoli, close to the border with Burkina Faso, where, since November 2021, terrorists and elements of JNIM, the Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims, come to carry out attacks in the northern part and leave to take refuge.

Since November 2021, the northern part of Togo, the prefecture of Kpendjal, not far from the border with Burkina Faso has been the scene of several deadly attacks.
