Residents of northern Mali have launched an information and awareness-raising campaign on peace and the consolidation of coexistence against a backdrop of renewed fighting between former rebels and the army.

The Collective also intends to implement an action plan to contribute to lasting peace in northern Mali.

The meeting was an opportunity to discuss the active role that the collective of Northern Residents’ Collective could play in bringing lasting peace to northern Mali, according to the organisation’s president Malick Alhousseini.
