Nigeria legislature is seeking to restructure the recruitment process for the National Police to urgently tackle the growing security threats.

The directive issued on Thursday by the National Assembly which also targets the Police Service Commission (PSC), requires the police to recruit operational personnel of Nigeria’s 774 local government areas.

As David Vincent reports, The Upper Chamber has directed the Committees on Police Affairs and Legislative Compliance to ensure its implementation.
