Nigeria’s Senate has approved a bill that imposes the death penalty on drug traffickers, following a third reading of the 2024 National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act (Amendment) Bill.
The proposal was adopted on Thursday during a committee session, where senators considered a report by the Chairman of the Committees on Judiciary, Human Rights & Legal Matters and Drugs & Narcotics, Senator Tahir Munguno.
