The Police in Nigeria says it has arrested over 9,000 persons for various criminal acts in 2021 but with the emerging crime trends, there is a need to revisit the policing structure and adopt a new policing vision to stabilize internal security in the country.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, who stated this at a force retreat, maintained that the Officers would utilize the conference to renew mission, visions, strategies and reform Police initiatives, undertake a holistic assessment of the current security threats, and broaden their thinking and leadership capacities.
