Nigeria's electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has tasked Political Parties to engage more women’s participation in Political Processes.
INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Outreach and Partnership Committee, Professor Kunle Ajayi stated this in Abuja during a workshop with political leaders on women’s participation in Party Primaries for the 2023 general election.
He disclosed that Nigeria has the lowest representation of women in the parliament in the continent, hence the need to close the gap.
