Nigeria’s drug regulatory agency has recalled a popular cough syrup from pharmacy shelves in the country manufactured by Johnson and Johnson.
The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) banned Benylin Pediatrics following a recent toxicity finding in the laboratory examination.
NAFDAC’s latest revelation comes just over a year after sounding the alarm over four killer syrups including one by an Indian pharmaceutical that killed over 70 children in the Gambia.
