Nigerian federal lawmakers members on the green chamber were at the plenary Thursday divided over a Bill seeking to amend the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act, 2004.
The amendment seeks to confer additional power to grant and revoke licenses for the cultivation of Cannabis for medicinal purposes.
The proposed legislation, which was stepped down at the plenary to consolidate it with a similar bill, was sponsored by MPs Benjamin Kalu and Olumide Osoba.
From Abuja, WADR’s Usman Umar reports.
