In Borno State, northeastern Nigeria, six soldiers lost their lives on Wednesday during an attack by Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters on a military base.
The Defense Headquarters (DHQ) confirmed the incident, adding that 34 insurgents were neutralized in the ensuing operation.
Troops recovered 23 AK-47 rifles and over 200 rounds of ammunition, demonstrating their resolve to combat insurgency in the region. The DHQ emphasized its commitment to maintaining security and neutralizing threats to stability.
