In Nigeria, industry players and citizens alike are reacting to the resuscitation of the Port Harcourt Refinery following its recent commencement of fuel production.
The Nigerian government took a significant step in March 2021 by securing a $1.5 billion loan for the renovation and modernization of the facility, which has faced numerous delays in its reopening.
On Tuesday, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited confirmed that the refinery, one of three owned by the Federal Government and managed by the NNPC Ltd, is now operational with an initial capacity of 60,000 barrels per day.
