Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has signed the nation’s 54.99 trillion Naira 2025 Appropriation Bill into law.
The budget is 99.96% higher than the 2024 appropriation bill of 27.5 trillion Naira.
Tinubu signed it in his office at the State House after the legislature’s approval on February 13th following a series of revisions.
Earlier in the month, Tinubu wrote to the National Assembly about the adjustment of the 2025 budget.
According to him, the increase was driven by additional revenue from the Federal Inland Revenue Service, the Nigeria Customs Service and other government-owned agencies.
