Nigeria's House of Representatives has asked the office of the National Security Adviser and the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development to immediately stop issuing licenses to oil servicing companies for the importation of explosives.

This followed concerns that licensed explosives may not be used only for the purposes they were imported.
