The National Counter Terrorism Centre in Nigeria has revealed that over 90,000 suspected terrorists including women and children have surrendered to the Disarmament, Demobilization, and Reintegration (DDRR) process in the North East Region of Nigeria since its inception in 2019.
The North East which consists of Borno, Yobe, Adamawa and Bauchi States is where the war on insurgency has been ongoing in the last two decades.
The National Coordinator of the National Counter Terrorism Centre disclosed this while delivering a keynote address over the weekend at the Annual General Meeting of the Abuja branch of ASIS International.
