Nigeria’s House of Representatives has advanced a bill to strip immunity from Vice Presidents, Governors, and their Deputies.

The proposed amendment to Section 308 of the 1999 Constitution would allow these officials to face prosecution while in office.

Supporters argue the move will curb corruption, reduce impunity, and enhance accountability in governance.

The bill, sponsored by Solomon Bob, passed its second reading on Wednesday.
