The Nigeria Customs Service operatives at the Port Harcourt 2 Area Command have successfully intercepted a cache of arms and ammunition, which has been subsequently handed over to the Nigeria Police Force.
These weapons were uncovered at the Onne Port, concealed within a vehicle that had been shipped from the United States. During a tour for the press, the Area Controller, Baba Imam, disclosed that a handgun and ammunition had been falsely declared as household items and hidden inside the vehicle, only to be discovered by vigilant operatives following a thorough search.
The seized items included used clothing, tires, vehicles used for concealing 76.9kg of special cannabis, cough syrup with codeine, and various other items.
