A coalition of civil societies from Nigeria’s Anambra State is calling for calm ahead of the gubernatorial election.
It comes amid threats of violence from members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
They appeal to the federal government to adopt dialogue with the armed group with a view to reaching a truce.
November 6th has been announced for the conduct of the election.
WADR's Usman Umar in this report says this is coming as the Inspector General of Police announces deployment of over thirty thousand police personnel to the South Eastern State to protect voters and election officials.
