Nigeria’s government says one million of its citizens will benefit from the newly launched cash transfer scheme to support the poorest of the population.

According the government, the 5-thousand-naira cash transfer to vulnerable households for the next 6 months, will help the families worst affected by the covid19 pandemic.

At the flag-off of Rapid Response Register covid19 scheme Wednesday – Vice President Yemi Osinbajo said the president Buhari led government is working on elevating the suffering of masses in the country.

Already, Nigeria is a beneficiary of the world bank social safety net project.
