The Kogi State government has confirmed the successful rescue of some of the abducted students from Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, Okene.

The students, who were taken by gunmen while studying for upcoming examinations, were reportedly rescued by local hunters and security agents after a fierce shootout with the kidnappers.

While the exact number of rescued students remains undisclosed, the Police Public Relations Officer for the state, SP Williams Aya, confirmed that 14 students were safely recovered.
