NIGER: Son of Ousted President Bazoum Granted Temporary Release After Seven-Month House Arrest

The son of ousted Nigerien President Mohamed Bazoum, Salem has been granted provisional release by the military court’s examining magistrate after being under house arrest for nearly seven months.

Salem is facing charges related to conspiring against the state’s authority or security.

A statement from the military justice department specified that this temporary release requires Salem to present himself before the court as and when required.
