A platform called “Niger First,” which aims to strengthen unity and synergy of action within several civil society organizations and union structures is being established.
The group comes at a time that tensions are rising between Niamey and Cotonou with the recent arrest of the some five Nigeriens by the Beninese police while they attended the loading of Nigerien crude oil at the port of Sèmé-Kpodji
