The Economic Community of West African States ECOWAS finally acknowledging the Niger July 26 coup.

The subregional body on Thursday proceeded to suspend Niamey from all its decision-making bodies, until the restoration of constitutional order.

ECOWAS’s affirmation of Niger’s governance reality came weeks after the United States of America through the Department of State acknowledged the coup and asked for the release of deposed president Mohammed Bazoum.
