The Military Junta in Niger has issued authorization to the Malian and Burkinabe armies to deploy troops in the country should ECOWAS consider using force to restore constitutional rule.
The development was announced in a joint statement by the collaborating countries on Thursday after a meeting of the concerned foreign ministers.
Analysts have described the latest move by The National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland (CNSP) as a deliberate attempt to continuously resist diplomatic pressure from ECOWAS.
