The Nigerien Prime Minister in a statement announced the arrival in Niamey of an American delegation to arrive this week.
Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine said the delegation is visiting to take stock of bilateral cooperation and to envisage the future of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The announcement is coming days after the U.S. Defence Department last Friday confirmed the withdrawal of its over one thousand troops stationed in the country.
While citizens of Niger intensify demonstrations for the immediate evacuation of the American soldiers, no timetable has been agreed upon by the parties.
The United States also has a large drone base in Agadez estimated at around 100 million US dollars.
