The Gambian government says it has made significant progress in keeping with democratic principles and values since the country transitioned in 2017.
Education, Health, Justice, and the protection of rights have remained critical areas of focus for the current administration.
But despite the successes in the Gambia, Dr Mohammed Jallow, Gambia’s Vice president said his government shares the concern and suffering of the population within the sub-region and beyond.
Migration, a surging crisis from The Gambia and neighbouring countries made it on Jallow’s presentation at the 78 session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
