In Cote d’Ivoire, the Independent Electoral Commission (CEI) announced Monday evening that the ruling Rally of Houphouetists for Democracy and Peace (RHDP) largely won the regional and municipal elections, held on September 2.
Speaking in an address on state tv RTI, the country’s electoral chief Ibrahime Coulibaly-Kuibiert, said the RHDP, won 25 regions out of 31 and 123 municipalities out of 201, with a participation rate of 44.61% for the regional ones and 36.18% for the municipal ones.
