Here in Senegalese, reactions have continued to trail the statement by the Minister of Justice Ismaila Madior Fall confirming the ineligibility status of the opposition politician and leader of the now-dissolved – Pastef party, Ousmane Sonko.

The announcement technically implies a distorted possibility for the Incarcerated politician to contest in the February 2024 presidential elections.

Recall, Sonko was found guilty in a moral scandal and charged with corrupting the youth.

However, today he is imprisoned for other charges including inciting insurrection and acts that undermine national security.
