The United States Ambassador to Mali Rachna Korhonen has been summoned by the government.
In a statement delivered on Sunday, government spokesman Colonel Abdoulaye Maiga revealed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the ambassador to convey the government’s dissatisfaction and a trend of what it perceives as false accusations against the country.
The summons comes as a response to the recent unilateral decision by the United States Government to impose visa restrictions on two esteemed officers of the Malian Army. The restrictions were imposed based on alleged involvement in the Moura killings.
