Six months after a series of demonstrations in the country, the World Organization against Torture (OMCT) and the Chadian Human Rights League (LTDH) released an investigative report revealing the grave human rights violations that occurred during the protests.
The report indicates that there were 218 deaths, hundreds of injuries, dozens of torture cases, 40 disappearances, and over 1,300 arrests.
The report aims to provide additional information to human rights organizations and support their investigative work to ensure legal proceedings against the perpetrators of the violence that occurred on what they referred to as “Black Thursday.”
