The Tunisian coast guard announced on Monday that it had discovered the remains of 31 African migrants who drowned while attempting to cross the Mediterranean Sea to Italy.
The bodies were found off the coasts of Sfax, Kerkennah, and Mahdia, and included two women and two children.
The number of migrant boats departing from Tunisia en route to Italy has significantly risen in recent times.
