The Gambia is on the verge of setting up a special prosecutor’s office to deal with crimes committed under former President Yahya Jammeh.
The court will be set up under the ministry of justice to hear all crimes committed from 1994 to 2017.
The government has also initiated talks with the regional bloc – ECOWAS to assist the Gambia in establishing an international court to hear criminal cases involving perpetrators.
The Attorney General and Minister of Justice Minister DawdaJallow made the revelation before members of the National Assembly.
