A video of the students kidnapped by bandits in Nigeria's Kaduna State has surfaced online and shows the students appealing to the government to secure their release.
In the new video, the students were seen being flogged by the bandits who were armed and dressed in military uniforms.
While previous releases of abducted students were tagged ransom free, abductors of the 39 students from the college of forestry are demanding a 500-million-naira ransom in return for their release.
According to the state authorities, 23 females and 16 males remain in captivity as others were rescued by the military hours after the abduction.
Speaking in the video footage is Benson Emmanuel, one of the students abducted by the bandits.
