The Ivorian ministry of defense says nearly five thousand soldiers, the majority of whom are non-commissioned officers have resigned from the army in the last 5 five years.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Defense, Téné Birahima Ouattara, at the council of ministers that also hosted a voluntary departure ceremony for 305 soldiers in Abidjan.
