The Nigeria Labor Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have called off their nationwide indefinite strike and picketing of Central Bank of Nigeria branch offices, which was planned for today, Wednesday, March 29.
This decision comes after considering the lingering scarcity of cash that has brought hardship to citizens and businesses in the country.
In a joint media briefing held on Tuesday in Abuja, the Presidents of NLC, Joe Ajaero, and TUC, Festus Osifo, expressed skepticism about the Central Bank’s ability to sustain the cash flow process.
