The call of February 11 to save Mali has kicked against its dissolution by the transitional authorities. The decision was made at last Wednesday’s Council of Ministers meeting.

The coalition of parties, political movements, and civil society organizations against the transition have described the action as void.

The United Nations has expressed deep concern over the dissolution of civil society organizations in Mali, governed by military transitional authorities, and the increasing restrictions on human rights and fundamental freedoms.

This new dissolution of a political grouping in Mali comes after the suspension of activities of political parties and associations. At least four organizations have been disbanded since December 2023, including those focusing on good governance, elections, and opposition
