There have been mixed reactions from Niger on the lifting of economic and financial sanctions imposed on the country by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

At  its extraordinary summit held in Abuja, Nigeria over the weekend. The  Heads of States of the regional organization say their decision was based mainly on humanitarian grounds.
