The call to mobilize resources in safeguarding the Sahel region crowned the discussions at the 4th General Assembly of the Sahel Alliance held in Nouakchott, Mauritania.

More than 120 representatives of the alliance and their partners took part in the event attended by the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, who doubles as Chairperson of the G5 Sahel.

In his address, Mouhamed Cheikh Ould El Ghazouani called for a synergy of efforts to combat the security crisis in the Sahel.
