Lawyers for former Mauritanian President Mouhamed Ould Abdel Aziz are demanding his immediate and unconditional release.
The judicial supervision measure imposed on him expired on Wednesday, and his legal team is calling on the prosecutor to apply the law by releasing him.
The former state president, who is being prosecuted for alleged corruption, has been under judicial supervision since March 2021.
He is currently under house arrest in his home in Nouakchott, the Mauritanian capital. Taleb Khayar, is one of his lawyers.
