The Sierra Leone People’s Party {SLPP} has forced it way into laying of an order paper during an emergency summon of Parliament.

The opposition is still protesting the controversial mid-term population and housing census which was pronounced last year by President Julius Maada Bio to have commenced on Monday 19th April.

The MPs physically used strong words and went into blows against each other throughout the proceeding, which was momentarily disrupted.

Parliament had two weeks ago adjourned its proceedings indefinitely only to reconvene by order of the President according to the Leader of Government Business – Honorable Mathew Nyuma.

The lawmakers, whose original meeting venue is being rehabilitated, converged on the Bintumani International Conference center in Freetown.

Patrick Sallia witnessed chaos and violence and sent us this report from Freetown.
